Forget dating apps and blind dates: there’s a new experience in Toronto that promises to find you your soulmate. A new photo booth pop-up called Just Missed Her will, for the price of $15, offer you a three-photo strip along with a picture of what it believes to be your soulmate in the city.
The concept is inspired by Missed Connections in New York City, a soulmate photo booth concept that asks a series of questions of visitors before providing you with your own photo strip as well as one of whoever else has visited the booth who might be your best match.
At Just Missed Her, visitors will fill out a questionnaire of 10 questions assessing compatibility, shared values and more from a QR code before stepping into the booth. You can then take your photos, step out, wait for them to print and then receive another surprise: a photo strip of your supposed soulmate, as well as their name — but no other contact or identifying details. Then, it’s up to the city and fate to work its magic!
Of course, you could always hack the system and write your Instagram handle as your name when you fill out the questionnaire so your soulmate has an easier time finding you. But if you want a true Serendipity-inspired experience, trust the photo booth. And imagine getting to tell your future kids that their parents found each other through a magic photo booth!
The pop-up began on Aug. 20 and is only running until Aug. 30, which means you only have one more week to find your soulmate. The upside is that you’ll be matched from a much larger pool of potential soulmates.
The Just Missed Her photo booth is located just outside Lucky’s Bodega at 213 Ossington Ave. It’s open from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m., Sunday to Thursday, and until 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
Once the pop-up is over, there are still plenty of places in the city to get an authentic photo booth experience; check out our list here.
