Amy Winehouse’s Parents Visit the Singer’s Grave on the 15th Anniversary of Her Death

23 July 20262 Mins Read

Amy Winehouse’s parents, Mitch and Janis, were spotted paying their respects at their daughter’s grave on the 15th anniversary of her death.

Photos obtained and shared by The Daily Mail showed the couple, who were joined by others, visiting the singer’s grave after she tragically died on July 23 2011, of alcohol poisoning at the age of 27.

Following the singer’s death, her parents began the Amy Winehouse Foundation in September 2011, which aims to help those struggling with substance abuse. Their work is vast, as they have Resilience Programs for Schools, ensuring that children of all ages are educated on the dangers of drugs and alcohol, as well as Recovery Pathways Programs for Young People. They also opened Amy’s Place, which is a recovery housing program for young women after the leave treatment.

In 2006, Winehouse released the album Back to Black, on which she won five Grammys, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for “Rehab”. The chorus of the song goes, “They tried to make me go to rehab, but I said, ‘No, no, no,” which is about a conversation she had in the past about getting help for her drinking.

On the 15th anniversary, many fans paid tribute to the singer’s legacy.

“Back to Black, Rehab, and Valerie made Amy Winehouse unforgettable. Fifteen years later, her voice still lives on. Rest in peace, Amy Winehouse,” one person wrote.

“Her voice, songwriting, and influence continue to inspire millions. Gone far too soon, but her music will live forever,” another person commented.

“one of the greatest voices Ive ever heard and one of the most tragic deaths… rip,” a fan expressed.

“15 years without Amy and her voice still feels unmatched. Two albums, 27 years on earth, and somehow she left a legacy people spend whole lifetimes chasing,” another fan posted.

“still can’t accept that she left us so suddenly. There will never be another person like her. She is one in a million,” one fan stated.
