An iconic Calgary neighbourhood was just named one of the trendiest in Canada

24 July 20262 Mins Read

If you’re looking for a trendy Calgary neighbourhood to explore this summer, one southwest community is getting some national attention.

Known for its quiet streets, green spaces and proximity to some of the city’s most popular areas, Shaganappi has become a standout spot and, according to a new report from Airbnb, one of the trendiest neighbourhoods in Canada.

“A quiet, tree-lined community wrapped around Shaganappi Point Golf Course, where a round comes with sweeping downtown skyline views right outside your door. It’s just a short drive or transit ride to 17th Avenue’s restaurant scene or Marda Loop’s boutiques, then back to this peaceful neighbourhood to unwind,” the report touted.

The neighbourhood, located just west of downtown, offers plenty to see and do. From scenic walks and local restaurants to nearby attractions that make it worth adding to your summer plans.

Beyond the golf course, Shaganappi is surrounded by parks and pathways that make it a peaceful spot to explore.

Nearby Marda Loop offers plenty of options for shopping, dining, and grabbing a coffee. The popular neighbourhood is home to local boutiques, restaurants and cafés, making it a convenient stop before heading back to Shaganappi’s quieter streets.

For those looking to explore closer to the city centre, 17th Avenue SW is also nearby, offering a wide variety of restaurants, shops and entertainment options right next to the neighbourhood.

Whether you’re looking to hit the golf course, enjoy a walk through the area or explore nearby local businesses, Shaganappi offers a mix of city convenience and neighbourhood charm.

You can find Airbnb’s full list online.
