Book of Mormon Performance Halted in London After Audience Member Disrupts Show —

1 April 20261 Min Read

A Tuesday night performance of The Book of Mormon in London’s West End was canceled during Act 1 after an audience member allegedly threw objects toward the cast, forcing producers to halt the show at the Prince of Wales Theatre on March 31st.

Reports described the man as wearing a lime green balaclava during the disruption. Producers said the remainder of the performance was canceled out of concern for the safety and wellbeing of the cast, crew, audience, and venue staff.

According to published reports, the disturbance happened during the show when the audience member stood up near the front and began throwing items toward the stage. The Sun reported that the man, described as wearing the lime green balaclava, claimed he was staging a “spiritual protest.” Audience members described the moment as alarming, and the cast was taken offstage before the performance was officially called.

Staff later informed the audience that the show would not continue, and ticket holders were directed toward refund or exchange options.

Producers said the individual was removed from the venue and that authorities were involved. The production also said performances were expected to resume on Wednesday.
