Canada’s largest Korean Festival returns to Toronto next month

13 July 20252 Mins Read

Get ready, Toronto! The ultimate celebration of Korean culture is back and bigger than ever. The Toronto Korean Festival (TKF) is returning to Mel Lastman Square from Friday, August 22 to Sunday, August 24, 2025, and this year marks its 25th anniversary.

With over 100,000 visitors expected to pack the square throughout the weekend, TKF is set to deliver an unforgettable fusion of K-pop, culture, cuisine, and community.

If you’re a fan of K-pop, this is your moment. On Saturday and Sunday nights, the main stage will be headlined by ONE PACT, a rising five-member boy group that’s been topping charts and stealing hearts all year.

Friday’s kickoff features a performance by Funkyverse, the Korean-Canadian street dance crew that blew away judges on Canada’s Got Talent.

And if you’re still standing after all that, the K-pop DJ stage will keep the party going late into the night on Friday and Saturday, with sets by MOOBEK and Toronto’s very own, Shyykimm.

Beyond the beats, TKF is serving up some seriously cool cultural programming. Don’t miss the Korean Royal Hanbok Show (Aug 23–24), presented by Atlanta’s Hanbok Cultural Resource Foundation. It’s part runway, part heritage theatre — and 100 per cent stunning.

Also on deck: jaw-dropping Taekwondo performances by Canadian martial arts champions from KBBMA and JUNGKO, blending tradition with high-flying skill.

And, yes, let’s be honest: you’re 100 per cent coming for the food. The K-Street Food section will be packed with 30+ booths dishing out Korean classics and snacks. And for those craving the ultimate pairing? Head to the Chimek Garden (aka Korean fried chicken + beer) in the ice rink area, where you can sip on soju, beer, and makgeolli while digging into crispy golden goodness.

Whether you’re joining the always chaotic and fun Random Play Dance, trying your hand at Korean traditional games, or snapping a pic in a hanbok, the K-Culture Zone has you covered. And with 40+ marketplace booths showcasing everything from handmade crafts to K-beauty — yes, I said K-Beauty — and tech, there’s plenty to explore between performances.

Volunteers (ages 15+) can still sign up until July 21, and performers interested in hitting the TKF stage can inquire at [email protected].
