Charlie Sheen to Return to TV Alongside Dad Martin Sheen

Charlie Sheen’s comeback is not finished yet!

The Two and a Half Men alum, 61, is set to return to the small screen alongside his iconic father, Martin Sheen, in AMC’s upcoming comedy series, Happy Jack.

The half-hour comedy has been greenlit for a six-episode first season with production slated to begin in early 2027.

“I’ve always heard the moments that truly matter happen when they’re supposed to. The good folks at AMC have played a huge hand in deciding that moment is now. It’s no secret that it’s been a minute, and I’m thrilled to be going back on television in such a meaningful way in an equally wonderful show,” Charlie said, according to Deadline. The crew has reassembled – suffice it to say, it’s time to give the people what they want.”

The show’s synopsis describes Charlie’s character, Jack Chambers, as “bit of a lifelong ne’er-do-well” with two daughters. “His daughter Kate runs his company and keeps him on the rails, while his daughter Sam is a wild child who is more like her dad,” The Wrap revealed. Martin will, naturally, portray Charlie’s father.

“When Sam comes home to introduce everyone to her new boyfriend, Jack’s shocked to learn Paul, a former investment banker turned van life guru, is the same age as he is,” the logline explains. “Shocked at first (hypocrisy be damned), Jack soon realizes he’s got a choice to make. Will he keep looking out for number one, or embrace this last chance to be a real part of his daughters’ lives?”

The news comes one year after Netflix released its two-part documentary, aka Charlie Sheen, on his life and journey to sobriety. Martin — along with son Emilio Estevez — declined to participate in the doc, claiming “they wanted to let Charlie have this moment.”

“I sat down with them to watch the movie, and they are fully supportive of it and love it. They are all very close,” director Andrew Renzi said at the time.

Charlie later shared, “[Martin] saw it and loved it and was just, he was laughing, he was crying, he was so engaged, and he comes up to me afterwards and says, ‘I’m already in it. I’d much rather be young, handsome in this thing than this guy right now, you don’t need this old guy in your movie.'”
