Cologne’s hotel industry delivered a record July performance in 2026 as an events calendar helped drive higher guest demand, room rates and revenue, according to preliminary CoStar data.
Hotel occupancy reached 72.1% during the month, up 2.5% year over year and the highest level recorded for July in the city. Revenue per available room rose 8.5% to EUR76.64, also a July record.
Average daily rate increased 5.8% from a year earlier to EUR106.36. The figure was Cologne’s second-highest July room rate on record, below the EUR108.60 recorded in July 2024.
The strongest pricing performance came during Cologne Pride. On Saturday, July 4, the second night of the festival and the evening before the city’s Pride grand parade, hotels achieved the month’s highest average daily rate of EUR159.95. RevPAR reached EUR145.16, while occupancy climbed to 90.8%.
On Saturday, July 18, Romeo Santos and Prince Royce brought their “Better Late Than Never” tour to Cologne. The concert helped push occupancy to a monthly high of 92.2%. Hotels recorded an average daily rate of EUR134.16 and RevPAR of EUR123.70 that night.
