Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel to Open in Nashville Sept. 29

In Brief: Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel and Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum are scheduled to debut together Sept. 29 in Nashville.

Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel, created in partnership with Dolly Parton and Herschend, will include 245 guest rooms and suites, two live entertainment venues and a café. Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum, created by Dolly Parton Productions, will occupy the hotel’s third floor and have a dedicated entrance at 126 3rd Ave. N. in downtown Nashville.

The hotel’s entertainment venues will be Jolene’s and Parton’s Live. Jolene’s, on the top floor, will present nightly performances by singers and songwriters and serve cocktails, small plates and desserts. Parton’s Live, on the second floor, will host writers’ rounds, songwriter sessions and rising-star showcases, with shareable plates, desserts and seasonal cocktails.

Guest reservations for SongTeller Hotel are scheduled to open Sept. 14. Programming beginning that date will include performances by Parton family members and emerging artists.

Richie Owens, Parton’s cousin, is scheduled to perform Sept. 16 at Parton’s Live. Jada Star, Parton’s niece, is scheduled to begin a twice-weekly artist-in-residence program Sept. 17 and Sept. 19.

SongTeller Hotel is also partnering with FEMcountry for monthly performances at Parton’s Live featuring female artists and songwriters. FEMcountry was founded by music industry executive Leslie Fram.

The museum will span more than 20,000 square feet and include interactive exhibits, artifacts, multimedia installations and personal stories. Its exhibits will begin with a recreation of the cabin where Parton grew up in the Great Smoky Mountains and continue through people, places and events in her life and career.

Parton was filmed earlier this year to guide visitors through her life story using technology incorporated into the museum. Rachel Parton George, Parton’s sister, and Rebecca Seaver, Parton’s niece, led the museum’s design and curation.

Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 29, tickets for Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum will be available for purchase. The museum will be available for private events, including weddings, receptions and business gatherings.

The museum will include two retail stores offering Dolly Parton merchandise and exclusive collections.
