DreamWorks Sequel ‘The Bad Guys 2’ Sets Netflix US Release Date Following Peacock Stint

The world’s most charming criminal crew is officially making its way to Netflix. Following its massive theatrical run, the hit sequel The Bad Guys 2 has finally locked in its Netflix streaming premiere date as part of the ongoing partnership between Universal and Netflix. It follows an initial small stint where the movie has been exclusive to Peacock. 

We can confirm that The Bad Guys 2 (2025) will be available to stream on Netflix US starting Saturday, March 21st, 2026. It’s one of at least four recent Universal movies scheduled to touch down throughout the month, including live-action titles new to Netflix, given that the Universal first-window deal for them was initially with Prime Video but has been moved up by a year. 

If you follow our coverage, you know that Universal’s animated slate (including DreamWorks and Illumination) has followed a unique “shared window” deal for many years now. This ensures that the biggest animated blockbusters are split between Peacock and Netflix during their first year of release. This deal continues for the foreseeable future.

The Bad Guys 2 will be exclusive to Netflix for a 10-month window starting March 21st. Following this period, the film will return to its permanent home on Peacock in early 2027.

The Home of ‘The Bad Guys’ Franchise

Netflix has become the go-to destination for fans of Aaron Blabey’s reformed villains. In addition to the upcoming sequel, subscribers can currently stream the original 2022 The Bad Guys movie, which has remained a staple in the Netflix Top 10 since it arrived. Netflix will continue to carry that through January 1st, 2027, we’re told.

What is ‘The Bad Guys 2’ about?

Directed by Pierre Perifel, the sequel finds Mr. Wolf, Mr. Snake, Ms. Tarantula, Mr. Shark, and Mr. Piranha struggling to maintain their new “Good Guy” status. Their resolve is put to the ultimate test when they are coerced into doing “one last job” by an all-female squad of elite criminals known as the Bad Girls.
