Everything revealed for Warframe and Soulframe at TennoCon 2026

Every year, hundreds of Warframe and Soulframe players gather in London, Ontario, the home of game developer Digital Extremes, to learn what’s new in the games they love. At last year’s TennoCon, Digital Extremes revealed that the game’s next expansion would take players to Tau, a new solar system. It also announced three new Protoframes, and opened the doors of Soulframe to all new players.

This year, we’re getting even more announcements about Digital Extremes’ future plans for Warframe and Soulframe, both onstage at TennoCon and in a Twitch streamyou can watch from home. As the schedule highlights, a Soulframe Devstream has just taken place, while Warframe fans shouldn’t miss the 4:30 pm EDT TennoLive 2026 showcase.

There are in-game Warframe events celebrating TennoCon

As in previous years, Warframe players can enter a special in-game Relay orbiting Saturn to experience an in-game event synchronized with the TennoLive stream.

Sign up for Soulframe by the end of Sunday to get access to Preludes

Digital Extremes is once again ready to welcome a new batch of players into Soulframe. If you sign up on the game’s website before 11:59 PM EDT on July 12, you will get into and be able to play the Soulframe: Preludes pre-alpha playtest.

A new boss is now in Soulframe

For those who get into Soulframe: Preludes this weekend, you can face a new boss called the Mendicant Reinbreaker. If you beat the Mendicant Reinbreaker, you’ll be able to befriend the horse the boss rides in the future.

Soulframe‘s next Fable is called Warsongs and adds a new Pact

Digital Extremes did confirm during the Devstream that a new Fable called Warsongs will come to Soulframe: Preludes this fall. It’ll feature the Vadagar Pact, a new “corrupted player progression path” with more violent abilities.

Ben Starr and Jennifer English are coming to Soulframe

We got a brief look at Ben Starr’s character, an antagonist named Tempest Bayor, but won’t learn more about him until the TennoLive showcase later tonight. That said, Ben Starr isn’t the only Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 talent making its way into Soulframe. Jennifer English, who played Maelle in Expedition 33, will also portray a new character, the Empress of Eldveil. English’s character appeared briefly at TennoCon 2025, and English herself appeared on the Devstream panel.

Mounts and fishing are coming to Soulframe

Later this year, Soulframe: Preludes players will be able to use befriended animals as mounts. A fishing minigame will also make its way to the pre-alpha.

Soulframe’s Warsong Fable gets a lengthy demo

After teasing it earlier today during the Devstream, we got a more complete look at Soulframe’s Warsong Fable. This demo not only included some thrilling beaver gameplay, but gave us a closer look at Ben Starr’s new character, mounts, and the Vadagar Pact. If you’re interested in playing Soulframe but don’t plan on getting access to its Preludes pre-alpha tests this weekend, this is definitely worth watching.

Warframe: Tau takes the game beyond the Origin System later this year

The overarching reveal at TennoCon 2026 is that the Tau expansion will launch later this year. Almost every other reveal or update of the game relates back to this in some way. As its title suggests, this expansion takes place in the Tau System rather than the Origin System.

With that comes two new locations, the ring city of Fornax and another yet-to-be-revealed one, as well as a new enemy faction called the Fornax Drowners. Make sure you’re caught up on Warframe’s story content so you can check out Tau when it comes out.

Matt Mercer’s Brysko is the star of Warframe: Tau

At the center of Warframe: Tau’s narrative is a new, noir detective-like Warframe named Brysko. He was created to challenge The Hunra, a crime boss who controls Fornax by using a substance called Bloom. Brysko is mainly a melee-focused character, although he also wields an Exalted magnum revolver called The Corecracker.

More importantly, he’s voiced by Matt Mercer! A highly requested voice actor for Warframe, you probably know him best as the GM of Critical Role and a voice actor in tons of different games.

Creative director Rebecca Ford said she told Mercer, “I have the perfect piece of Warframe mythos for you to put your mark on as a brand new character.” Read more of that interview on Polygon.

An original card game is coming to Warframe

Move over Gwent and Queen’s Blood, we have a new challenger for the best card-game-within-a-game mantle. Warframe: Tau will introduce Portau, a unique card game inspired by poker. Although Portau is just a minigame, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s one of the things that keeps players coming back to Tau’s content long after they finish the story. Portau will be playable in the Fornax’s casino in the Tau system.

Mesa’s Heirloom Collection has been added to Warframe

For those who liked spending money on cosmetics in Warframe, you’ll be happy to know that a new collection of Heirloom gear for Mesa is now available in Warframe to celebrate TennoCon 2026. The sharpshooter frame sports a pair of chaps and a helm that’s halfway between a cowboy hat and a set of bull horns.

Amir’s Shockwave will bring a new boy band song to Warframe in August

August’s take on Warframe’s free Nightwave battle pass system will be a little bit different, as it’ll be part of a Warframe: 1999-inspired event called Amir’s Shockwave. Not only will Amir’s Shockwave bring many new cosmetics, but Digital Extremes will also release a new song, Running Late, created by the in-universe boy band On-Lyne. Rebecca Ford also teased a bit of what to expect from that song to Polygon, so check that story out.

Alongside Amir’s Shockwave, Digital Extremes will introduce a new minigame: Fables & Frontiers, a pen-and-paper roleplaying game that creative director Rebecca Ford joked was “legally distinct” from any other roleplaying games you might know. Longtime Warframe players will know that Amir has been trying to get the Hex crew to let him DM an F&F campaign for a while now.

A room in the Höllvania mall will now be dedicated to Amir’s Fables & Frontier’s set, and the game’s K.I.M. messaging system will expand to encompass a text-based adventure that the player can enjoy with the Hex.

Warframe’s fall 2026 update is shaping up to be a massive one

Separate from the Tau expansion, Warframe is going to receive a free Iceblade of Narin update this fall that brings a lot of important changes to the game. The most notable of these is a complete rework of Banshee, which Polygon interviewed Digital Extremes about. Additionally, it’ll add a new ice-themed female Warframe, Prime gear for Citrine, and Deluxe gear for Qorvex. More about this update will be revealed on Sept. 4.

TennoCon 2027 has already been announced and scheduled

TennoCon 2026 has barely ended, but Digital Extremes has already locked in dates for next year’s convention. TennoCon 2027 will take place in London, Ontario, Canada on July 16-17, 2027.

Developer Digital Extremes said it will share more details later. This year, TennoCon tickets went on sale in February, and sold out almost immediately.

In the meantime, it also confirmed the dates for some of this fall’s TennoVIP events. These will take place in Seoul on Sept. 4, Xi’an on Sept. 12, London on Oct. 2, and Glasgow on Oct. 4.
