The resort is planned for a site of approximately 16 acres and will include 220 guestrooms, four dining venues, 3,000 square meters of event space, a spa, fitness center, swimming pool and kids’ club.
The development is located in the Shivpuri-Rishikesh region, near the Himalayan foothills and the landscape surrounding the River Ganges. The project will include guest experiences inspired by the region’s natural setting and cultural heritage.
Rishikesh is a destination for spirituality, wellness, yoga and meditation. The area also has connectivity to Delhi NCR and other markets, as well as demand for leisure travel, staycations, adventure tourism, weddings and MICE events.
The signing is part of an expansion of Accor’s Fairmont portfolio in India. Fairmont properties in India include Fairmont Jaipur, Fairmont Mumbai and Fairmont Udaipur, with upcoming openings in Shimla Fagu, Goa and Agra.
The project is intended to address a gap in branded luxury resorts in the Shivpuri-Rishikesh region amid increased demand for hospitality experiences, including nature-led and experience tourism.
The project is part of Javi Group’s development of a dedicated hospitality vertical. Vibhor Jain, director of Javi Home Pvt. Ltd., said the group is partnering with Accor to introduce the Fairmont brand in Rishikesh.
Accor in India and South Asia operates 75 hotels across luxury, premium, midscale and economy segments under 10 brands. The brands include Raffles, Fairmont, Sofitel, Pullman, Grand Mercure, Novotel, Mercure, ibis and ibis Styles. Ennismore, which represents the group in the lifestyle segment, is active in the region with Roswyn, a Morgans Originals hotel that recently opened in Mumbai.
