Just two days before the start of their “Coming Home” India tour, legendary hard rock band Scorpions announced that they were cancelling all four dates amid “unforeseen medical circumstances affecting the band members.” This was supposed to be their first time in India in almost 20 years.

“We apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment caused to fans,” they shared via Book My Show’s Instagram. “The band are very keen to perform in India when possible and within their schedule.” The heavy metal “Rock You Like A Hurricane” group was set to perform in Shillong on April 21, Delhi on April 24, Bengaluru on April 26, and Mumbai on April 30.
The German group, which includes singer Klaus Meine, guitarist Rudolf Schenker, guitarist Matthias Jabs, bassist Paweł Mąciwoda, and drummer Mikkey Dee, did not state who was unwell, but several shows were cancelled in 2025 when vocalist Meine had a respiratory infection and was unable to sing, and many fans assumed it was related to lasting effects. One year prior, the “We Built This House” rockers postponed some concerts as drummer Dee battled sepsis.

Book My Show announced that all tickets purchased on the platform would “automatically be refunded within 7-10 working days.”
Fans feared for the 1980s legends’ health, and took to the comments to send prayers and wishes for their wellbeing. “This is heartbreaking. Hope they recover well. Really wanted to see them live,” said one fan, while another added, “We can watch @scorpions someday in the future but Klaus’s health is more important. Lota of well wishes for his speedy recovery.”
Many other would-be concertgoers were angry at the last-minute nature of the cancellation. “Why do they cancel so late? People who booked for Shillong especially are really screwed because everything from flights, hotels, etc. is already booked and nothing can be done now,” said one, while another wrote, “Sitting on the flight to Shillong, about to switch the flight mode on and i see this post lol.” Another added, “My 13 year old daughter is breaking down crying and I don’t know how to console her. She is a big fan of scorpions.”
The band recently announced a Las Vegas residency at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, set to run “from Thursday, Sept. 17 through Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026″ alongside Buckcherry.
