Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler announced the appointment of Marla Barnshaw as Commercial Director, effective September 2026.
Barnshaw brings more than 20 years of luxury hospitality experience to her new role, with a career spanning sales leadership, business development and commercial strategy. As Commercial Director, she will lead the Resort’s commercial strategy across sales, reservation, marketing and revenue, while working closely with teams across the Resort and Residences to support continued growth and strengthen its position within the luxury travel market.
Barnshaw joins the Whistler team from Four Seasons Resort Peninsula Papagayo, Costa Rica, where she served as Director of Sales. Her responsibilities extended across strategic account development, forecasting and commercial planning, while also mentoring and developing members of the sales team.
Prior to her time in Costa Rica, Barnshaw held a sales leadership position at Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia, where she developed longstanding relationships in the group market. Throughout her Four Seasons career, she has built a reputation for thoughtful leadership, strong client relationships and an approach to commercial strategy grounded in both people and performance.
“We are thrilled to welcome Marla to the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler team,” says Pierre-Marie Morillon, General Manager. “Her incredible energy, depth of experience and natural leadership, together with a clear commercial vision, will be a tremendous asset as we look ahead to the Resort’s next chapter.”
An avid outdoor enthusiast with a love of mountains and nature, Barnshaw is looking forward to embracing Whistler’s year-round mountain lifestyle and becoming part of the local community.
