‘The Night Agent’ Season 4 Officially Wraps Filming Ahead of 2027 Release

Production has officially concluded on the fourth and final season of Netflix’s hit thriller The Night Agent, confirming that Peter Sutherland will return to our screens one last time in 2027.

The Night Agent was one of the hottest shows to land on Netflix, following a massive debut in early 2023 that saw the series amass over 98 million views in its first 91 days. While the initial frenzy has leveled off and viewership has declined, the thriller has delivered over 297 million total views in its three-season run so far. Sadly, we get only one more adventure with Peter Sutherland (played by Gabriel Basso), after Netflix confirmed the series would return for a fourth and final season.

Filming for The Night Agent season 4 began in Los Angeles on May 5, 2026, but Netflix recently confirmed in a Twitter post that production has wrapped.

Alongside the announcement that filming has wrapped, Netflix confirmed the series will return sometime in 2027. We had already anticipated a 2027 release, but this is the first confirmation we’ve had from Netflix that season 4 will drop in 2027. 

What to expect from season 4?

Series creator Shawn Ryan has already hyped up the finale, promising an epic send-off for Peter Sutherland:

Ever since the initial success of The Night Agent, I’ve been obsessed with eventually delivering a proper and thrilling conclusion to the show and to Peter Sutherland’s journey. I’m so grateful to Netflix and Sony Pictures Television for partnering with me on The Night Agent and for giving us the space to deliver a definitive final season to our worldwide legion of fans. We are hard at work to complete our story and to make our final season one our fans will never forget.

In Netflix’s season 4 teaser for the end of production, Gabriel Basso promises an “explosive” end to the series:

Oh, dude, I just had the weirdest déjà vu. This is the fourth and final season of The Night Agent. Peter has some new friends. Peter has some new foes. To everyone who’s watched the show, thank you. We’ve worked really hard to make this an explosive series finale.

It’s unclear exactly where the next threat for Peter Sutherland and the United States will come from, but after the death of Jacob Monroe and the subsequent exposure of Walcott Capital, there are going to be many rich, powerful, and incredibly dangerous clients who could come seeking revenge, while its competitors may seek to use the current power vacuum to their advantage.
