Four Seasons and Catuaí Asset have announced plans to open a Four Seasons Hotel in Rio de Janeiro’s Leblon area by 2029.
Four Seasons and Catuaí Asset have announced plans to develop a new hotel in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The Four Seasons Hotel Rio de Janeiro at Leblon will be located on Leblon beach and is set to open in 2029. The property will occupy the tallest building in the area, previously known as Hotel Marina Palace, which will undergo a complete renovation before its reopening.
The hotel will feature approximately 120 rooms and suites, offering views of the Atlantic Ocean. The renovation aims to transform the existing structure into a modern hotel, maintaining some of its architectural heritage while updating its facilities. The development is part of Four Seasons’ strategic expansion in South America and marks the company’s return to Brazil.
The hotel will include multiple dining options, including a rooftop bar and pool and a restaurant serving both local and international cuisine. Additional amenities will include a spa and wellness center and a range of beachfront activities. The location is approximately a 30-minute drive from Galeão International Airport.
This project adds to Four Seasons’ presence in South America, which includes properties in Buenos Aires, Bogotá, and an upcoming hotel and residences in Cartagena, scheduled to open in 2026. The development is part of ongoing investments in the Leblon area, which is seeing enhancements in lifestyle and leisure attractions.
