Hard Rock International plans to develop the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino San Juan through a partnership with Misla Hospitality, Stonecrest Investment Management, and The Interfin Companies, with construction expected to begin mid-2026 and opening targeted for 2029.

Hard Rock International has announced plans to develop the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino San Juan as part of a partnership with Misla Hospitality, Stonecrest Investment Management, and The Interfin Companies. The new-build project represents an announced investment of approximately $850 million, with construction scheduled to begin in mid-2026 and the property targeted to open in 2029.

The planned development will be located in San Juan, Puerto Rico’s capital city, and is expected to include approximately 415 guest rooms, 58 suites, and 186 branded residential units. The project is designed to offer views of both San Juan Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Architectural design services are being led by Klai Juba Wald in collaboration with CMA Architects.

According to the announcement, the development will include multiple event venues and a recording studio, along with curated displays featuring local memorabilia. The property is also planned to incorporate a casino and a range of food and beverage outlets, including both casual and upscale dining concepts and several bar venues. Additional recreational amenities are expected to include a Rock Spa, fitness center, and three terrace-level swimming pools.

The project will also include family-oriented facilities such as a kids’ club, a children’s arcade, and dedicated entertainment areas designed for teenage guests. These features are intended to support a mix of leisure, entertainment, and residential offerings within a single integrated development.

The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino San Juan is projected to generate more than 2,500 direct construction jobs during the development phase. Once operational, the property is expected to support approximately 1,250 permanent positions. The site is described as being accessible from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport and located adjacent to Old San Juan, providing connectivity to established tourism and cultural districts.

The development will represent Hard Rock’s first hotel, casino, and residential complex in Puerto Rico. Plans call for the property to incorporate cultural and musical elements reflecting the island’s heritage, including contributions from local artists as part of the design and guest experience.

The project forms part of Hard Rock International’s expansion strategy in destination resort markets and integrated hospitality developments.
