LOS ANGELES – Emergency crews are on scene of a reported helicopter crash in Chatsworth.
What we know:
According to the LA Fire Department, a pedestrian on the street was killed in the crash. It’s unclear how many people were in the helicopter or who the helicopter belonged to.
The fire department said the helicopter went down between two commercial buildings. Four nearby vehicles and two shipping containers caught fire.
No additional details are known at this time.
Deadly bus crash occurs a block away
Local perspective:
The scene is about a block or so away from the scene of a deadly Metro bus crash that happened earlier in the evening.
In that crash, an SUV collided with a bus that was traveling eastbound on Nordhoff Street near De Soto Avenue. Three people died, and another six were transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.
