Home2 Suites by Hilton to Open in Wasilla, Alaska by Fall 2026

Affinity Hospitality has announced plans to open a Home2 Suites by Hilton in Wasilla, Alaska, with an expected completion date of Fall 2026.

Affinity Hospitality is set to open a new Home2 Suites by Hilton in Wasilla, Alaska, by Fall 2026. The hotel will be located at 2242 E. Tysons Trail in the Sun Mountain Center area. The development follows a groundbreaking event that took place in June.

The property will consist of a four-story building with 107 suites. It is designed to accommodate both short-term and extended-stay guests. The hotel will include suites equipped with full kitchens and 55-inch Smart TVs. Additional amenities will feature multifunctional social spaces, outdoor patios, an indoor pool, a hot tub, and a fitness center. The hotel will also offer 936 square feet of meeting space, capable of hosting events for up to 47 people.

The project is financed by Northrim Bank and Nuveen Green Capital (NGC). It marks the first new construction in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough to utilize the Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy and Resilience (C-PACER) program. This financing mechanism is designed to support energy efficiency, water conservation, and seismic resilience measures, which are particularly relevant due to Alaska’s seismic activity.

The total financing package for the project amounts to $30 million, with $11 million allocated through C-PACER funding. This funding will help the hotel reduce its carbon footprint and operating costs.

The new hotel is strategically positioned to serve both leisure and business travelers, given its proximity to local businesses and attractions in the Sun Mountain Mixed-Use District. This will be Affinity Hospitality’s second Home2 Suites location in Alaska and its second hotel in Wasilla.

C-PACER, administered by the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, provides flexible financing options for commercial real estate projects. It is available in 40 states and Washington, D.C., and has gained popularity as a financing solution in the commercial real estate market.
