To help the Sanzhani in The Blood of Dawnwalker, you must find their hidden hideout, become friends with the Tsarina, and locate four Sanzhani in need of assistance. Help the four Sanzhani with their troubles, and you’ll receive the most precious reward of all: time. It’s easier said than done, however, since the Sanzhani quests aren’t marked on the map.
Here’s every Sanzhani quest location in The Blood of Dawnwalker and how to use them to send letters to Lunka and regain time segments.

How to help the Sanzhani in The Blood of Dawnwalker
The first Sanzhani quest in The Blood of Dawnwalker is called “Good Home,” which starts in the Svartrou Outskirts, north of Svartrau City. You can pick it up as soon as the prologue ends, but you won’t see a quest icon until you come close. Every other Sanzhani quest is locked behind this quest, so you can’t skip it.
Approach the fairy mushroom ring, follow the trail of rings, and investigate the burrow. Once you’ve completed the “Good Home” quest, no matter the outcome, the Sanzhani Tsarina will give you the “Letters to Lunka” quest, which contains the “Help the Sanzhani” objective; every time you help a Sanzhani, you’ll be allowed to send one letter to Lunka.
Because you’ve already helped the Sanzhani Tsarina, feel free to speak with her to send your first letter. To help the other Sanzhani, you must complete Sanzhani quests. There are four such quests in total (besides “Good Home” and “Letters to Lunka”), but they aren’t marked on your map until you approach their starting point, making it hard to find them.
Where to find every Sanzhani in The Blood of Dawnwalker
To send a total of five letters to Lunka, replenish some time segments, and obtain other rewards, here’s where to find the Sanzhani quests in The Blood of Dawnwalker.
- “Good Home”: Find and investigate the Yawning Burrow. Completing this Sanzhani quest will unlock the rest. You’ll find the overarching “Letters to Lunka” quest in the same spot.
- “Pearly and Precious”: Go to the Small Bridge shrine south of the military camp in Briar Sloughs. Just southwest of this bridge, use focus mode to find a blood trail, which leads to the Sanzhani. Defeat the bandits and promise to deliver shiny teeth to the Sanzhani to complete the quest.
- “Burrow Sorrows”: In the northern part of the Rockfalls region, enter the forest northwest of Shrike’s Crag. The Sanzhani is in the forest just north of the destroyed shrine. Agree to defeat the kobolds inside the burrow and return the charm.
- “Tiny Dancer”: This one is in a shop in Svartrau City, directly south of the Altenmarkt, and opposite a curious house. Sneak into the shop during the night or enter during the day and rob (and defeat) the owner, then free the Sanzhani from the cage on the second floor.
- “Come Hither”: Cross the bridge north of Vedera Marsh Outpost. Keep going north until you find a crying Sanzhani. You’ll have to defeat a Murohn to complete this quest.
Rewards for helping the Sanzhani in The Blood of Dawnwalker
Each Sanzhani quest allows you to send one letter to Lunka. On top of that, completing “Pearly and Precious” unlocks the Sanzhani Merchant. Here you can sell your shiny teeth (occasionally dropped by humans) for 150 denarii each. Do not purchase the silk threads from the Sanzhani Merchant, though; you will need this item to complete “A Bulwark Against Darkness,” but you can get the silk threads for free by completing “Come Hither.”
The main Sanzhani reward, however, is time; if you complete every Sanzhani quest in the game, and speak with the Tsarina in the Yawning Burrow, she’ll reward you with one extra day to save Coen’s family.
