How to spend a day at West Edmonton Mall for under $100

26 January 20263 Mins Read

West Edmonton Mall is one of the biggest attractions in the city, and we’re finding a way to make it affordable.

Edmonton is home to West Edmonton Mall, one of the biggest malls in North America, just second to the Mall of America.

There are loads of things to do, places to shop, and restaurants to eat at, but it can get a little costly from time to time. We’ve found a way to keep the budget within $100 (and options under $200 for those willing to go all out) for people looking to spend a whole day at the mall.

The budget includes activities and food, but not shopping money; that’s on you, folks. It’ll be a window shopping day instead.

Options for entertainment

First things first, we’re hitting the Ice Palace.

If you bring your own skates, you can soar across West Ed’s Ice Palace for $16 during its public skate hours, no registration required. Skate rentals are an extra $6, which can be included in the budget if you so choose — we still have room!

Following your peaceful skate in the center of the mall, you can head on over to Splatterverse.

At Splatterverse, $35 will get you a one-hour session of neon-coloured madness to create art and battle others. The base session includes a small canvas, a poncho, shoe covers, 900 ml of glow paint, and 50 ml of acrylic paint. You’ll get a kick out of this immersive art experience.

To round off the entertainment, you can visit either Dragon’s Tale or Professor WEM’s Adventure Golf for 18-hole mini-golf experiences between $16 and $18. Pricing varies based on the day. Whether you decide to choose between neon lights under dragons or warm ones surrounded by shops is up to you!

Room left in the budget for food

If you add up the prices of all the entertainment, you’ll have spent $75, with $25 left in the budget for food!

We’d recommend hitting up one of West Edmonton Mall’s food courts, as they offer a variety of options at a cheaper price point compared to Bourbon Street.

At these food courts, you can find popular spots like Chipotle, Chick-fil-a, Dairy Queen, and much, much more. And, if you want a nice drink with your meal, there might even be room for a bubble tea from The Alley or Coco.

And if you’re willing to spend a bit more…

In the chance you feel you want to do more, it might be worth it to purchase West Edmonton Mall’s Two-Day Multi Park Pass for $169.

This pass gives you access to almost every attraction for two consecutive days, with the list being Galaxyland, the World Waterpark, The Ship, Professor Wem’s Adventure Golf, Dragons Tale Blacklight Mini Golf and the Crystal Labyrinth, Ed’s Bowling, and the Sea Life Caverns at Marine Life.

Whatever you decide to do, you’re sure to have a blast at one of the biggest malls in the world. Enjoy West Edmonton Mall, folks!
