2026 has been an excellent year for sports documentaries so far, with the return of Formula 1: Drive to Survive and brand-new docs such as Rafa, Mourinho, and several new Untold docs. Still to come to Netflix in 2026 is a four-part docuseries on legendary boxer Mike Tyson, and a throwback to 1994 exploring Michael Schumacher’s incredible first world championship win.

Schumacher ’94 — The Birth of a Legend (2026)

Michael Schumacher is one of the greatest F1 Drivers of all time. Winner of 7 world championships between 1994 and 2004, Schumacher is also one of the most successful drivers to have worn the iconic cherry-red race suits of Ferrari. But before there was Ferrari, the German drove for Benetton, and in his fourth season of racing, Schumacher went on to win 8 races, earning him his maiden world championship. This documentary covers that emphatic first season, all the highs and lows, and his rivalry with British driver Damon Hill.

Mike Tyson, the legendary heavyweight boxer, returns to Netflix for a brand-new four-part docuseries that explores his life and career, told from the viewpoint of the man himself.
Netflix announced that its newest sports series will take an unflinching look at the life of legendary boxer and cultural icon Mike Tyson. Known as the youngest heavyweight champion in history (at the age of 20 in 1986), Tyson’s legacy extends far beyond the ropes of the boxing ring, cementing him as one of the most compelling and polarizing figures of our time. From his meteoric rise as the “Baddest Man on the Planet” to his personal struggles – including a period of incarceration and widely publicized struggles (i.e. finances, substance abuse, in-ring controversies) – and eventual redemption, this series will explore the man behind the gloves.

Coming to Netflix: TBA
The second season of At Home with the Furys provided insight into the life of Tyson Fury and his family during his training camp for his return from retirement to fight Arslanbek Makhmudov. With victory over Makhmudov, Fury is now setting his sights on Anthony Joshua, and if the fight is confirmed, we expect to see a lot of behind-the-scenes footage of Fury’s training camp.

Box to Box Films has nailed the sports docuseries format, and it all started on Netflix with Drive to Survive. Netflix’s annual season of Drive to Survive delivers the drama that unfolds across the previous F1 season, following the drivers and racing teams as they battle it out on the race track for world championships, podiums, and points. While Lando Norris aims to retain his world championship, the young Italian driver for Mercedes, Kim Antonelli, stands in his way.
America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (Season 4)

What will the 2026 NFL Season hold for the Dallas Cowboys? Win or lose, you can be sure that the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders will be there to cheer them on. The wonderful ladies of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders will return for a fourth season in 2027, as we follow them behind the scenes and explore what it takes to be one of America’s Sweethearts.

One of the most controversial scandals in French football history: in 1993, Olympique Marseille beat Valenciennes 1-0. However, at halftime, Valenciennes defender Jacques Glassmann had made his coach aware that he had been contacted with a sum of money “to take it easy” on the players, so their match against Bayern Munich in that year’s Champions League final would be injury-free. The incident would have had huge consequences not only for Marseille and Valenciennes but also for the reputation of French Football.
