Alejandro Gallegos has been named General Manager of Kimpton Virgilio, located in the Polanco neighborhood of Mexico City. In this position, Gallegos will oversee all aspects of the hotel’s operations and will also take on an expanded leadership role supporting the upcoming launch of Kimpton Castelar in Polanco.
Gallegos has more than thirty years of experience in hotel management, including roles in Mexico, Argentina, and Uruguay. His background includes hotel openings, repositionings, and operational leadership. Most recently, he served as General Manager of Hotel Alexander in Mexico City, where he led the property’s launch and oversaw its recognition as a Michelin Key hotel during his tenure.
Previously, Gallegos held leadership positions at Sofitel Montevideo Casino Carrasco & Spa in Uruguay and Grace Cafayate in Argentina, overseeing large-scale operations and managing teams. He has participated in the opening of seven hotels and the renovation of several others, including properties within the InterContinental portfolio.
Gallegos holds a bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City.
