Late Emmy-Nominated '90s Actress Anne Heche Would Have Turned 57 Today

25 May 20262 Mins Read

Anne Heche would have been turning 57 today.

The late actress — known for her roles in Six Days Seven Nights, Donnie Brasco, Volcano and more — would have celebrated her 57th birthday on May 25, 2026, if it weren’t for her tragic death in 2022.

Heche died at the age of 53 after being involved in a high-speed car accident in August 2022. She crashed her car into a rented home in Mar Vista, California, causing the residence to catch fire and leaving Heche with severe burns and injuries. She was in a coma for one week before being declared dead on Aug. 12, 2022.

“Today we lost a bright light, a kind and most joyful soul, a loving mother, and a loyal friend,” a representative for Heche said at the time of her death. “Anne will be deeply missed but she lives on through her beautiful sons, her iconic body of work, and her passionate advocacy. Her bravery for always standing in her truth, spreading her message of love and acceptance, will continue to have a lasting impact.”

Heche started her career as a young actor on the NBC soap opera Another World, playing twin sisters Vicky Hudson and Marley Love. The dual role earned her two Soap Opera Digest awards and one Daytime Emmy, before she went on to star in a number of other impressive roles in both film and television. In 2004, she earned a Primetime Emmy nomination for her supporting role in the TV movie Gracie’s Choice.

Heche also starred in a number of memorable films during the ’90s, like Donnie Brasco (1997), I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997), Six Days Seven Nights (1998), Return to Paradise (1998), Psycho (1998) and more.

Heche’s second memoir, Call Me Anne, was published posthumously in January 2023 with the help of her son 24-year-old son Homer Heche Laffoon. Heche was also a mother to younger son, Atlas Heche Tupper, who was just 13 when she died.
