Corinthia Hotels has appointed Mohammed Wazir as General Manager of Corinthia Gewan Island Qatar, with the hotel scheduled to open in early 2027.
Corinthia Hotels has appointed Mohammed Wazir as General Manager of Corinthia Gewan Island Qatar, the brand’s first hotel in the region, scheduled to open in early 2027.
Wazir returns to Corinthia Hotels after senior general management roles with Anantara and Habitas. He has led properties including Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara, Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara, and Our Habitas Ras Abrouq. He was part of the opening leadership team at Corinthia London as Executive Assistant Manager and previously held operational roles at Corinthia Prague, Corinthia St Petersburg, Corinthia London, Corinthia St George’s Bay Malta, and Corinthia Tripoli.
As General Manager, Wazir will oversee the pre-opening phase and operational launch of Corinthia Gewan Island Qatar, including strategy, operations, and brand delivery.
Located on Gewan Island, the property is described as a contemporary expression of Corinthia’s heritage and marks the brand’s debut in the GCC. Corinthia Dubai is also set to open in 2030.
