Netflix Adding Missing Season Of ‘My Hero Academia’ Plus Another Movie

Get ready to go Plus Ultra once again! Following a steady rollout of earlier seasons, Netflix has confirmed that the currently missing season, My Hero Academia Season 6, and the feature film World Heroes’ Mission will be making their way to the service on June 1st, 2026.

If you’ve been keeping track, Netflix has been working hard to catch up on the beloved superhero shōnen series. It all started back in 2024 when Netflix struck a massive deal to acquire popular anime titles for release, bringing heavy-hitters like Spy x Family, Mob Psycho 100, and the first batch of My Hero Academia seasons to the platform.

Since the initial drop of the first four seasons on March 25th, 2024, Netflix has been treating fans to a staggered release schedule of seasons and movies across 2025 and early 2026 (with notable drops happening in April 2025 and again this past March and April). Now, the platform is finally bringing us to one of the most action-packed arcs of the entire series.

Here’s exactly what is coming to Netflix on June 1st, 2026:

  • My Hero Academia (Season 6) – The highly acclaimed sixth season covers the explosive “Paranormal Liberation War” arc, where the heroes and Class 1-A engage in an all-out war against Tomura Shigaraki and the newly formed Paranormal Liberation Front. Note: Season 6 will be available in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia/New Zealand, and Latin America.
  • My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission (2021) – The third theatrical film in the franchise. When a sinister organization called Humarise threatens to eradicate all Quirks globally, Deku, Bakugo, and Todoroki must team up with pro-heroes around the world to stop them. Oh, and Deku is framed for mass murder and goes on the run

These will be in addition to the other two movies Netflix streams in the US: My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising (2019) and My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising (2019).

When is Season 8 of My Hero Academia coming to Netflix?

While the addition of Season 6 is great news for binge-watchers, Netflix is still lagging slightly behind the original Japanese broadcast and dedicated anime streamers like Crunchyroll.

Netflix is not yet streaming Season 8, and it will likely be quite a while before the latest episodes make their way to the platform. Based on the current licensing delays, Netflix viewers will have to wait for the platform to acquire Season 7 before we even start talking about an arrival date for Season 8. Until then, Crunchyroll is your best choice for that and all the other movies Netflix lacks.

Don’t forget about the Live-Action Adaptation!

As a quick reminder, catching up on the anime isn’t the only reason My Hero Academia is heavily featured on Netflix right now. Legendary Entertainment and Netflix are currently collaborating on a live-action adaptation of My Hero Academia. While details are still largely under wraps, watching (or rewatching) the anime is the perfect way to prep for when the live-action movie finally hits our screens.

June is shaping up to be an absolutely massive month for anime fans on the streaming service. For a full breakdown of what else is hitting the platform, be sure to check out our complete guide to new anime on Netflix in June 2026.
