It’s easy to see a “bad” habit and label it as, well, a “bad habit”—but a psychologist encourages us not to be so quick to judge. Apparently, some “bad,” “annoying” or “socially unacceptable” habits can actually signal positive qualities and values.  For example, overanalyzing experiences and overestimating your sense of control can be signs of high empathy. Correcting small things, overexplaining and pausing mid-conversation can signal that someone is intelligent.
