Pillsbury’s New Baking Kit Will Change How You Make Cupcakes This Fall

Pillsbury is whipping up an early start to the fall season with an all-new baking kit that will spice up how fans enjoy the iconic flavors of autumn.

As trends like “summerween” still reign supreme and brands ditch their vibrant and bright summer flavors for warmer, cozier vibes earlier and earlier every year, we gotta give Pillsbury credit for at least holding off on the news of its fresh arrival until September.

On Wednesday, the cult-favorite ready-to-bake and boxed dessert mix brand revealed it has an all-new fall release available at some stores already: a Pumpkin Stuffed Cupcake Kit.

Pillsbury’s new Pumpkin Stuffed Cupcake Kit has big plans to upgrade how home bakers make cupcakes for fall birthdays, Halloween parties, and their Thanksgiving-related gatherings because instead of the classic cream cheese-iced pumpkin (or pumpkin spice) cupcakes, Pillsbury has a strategy to make the treats creamier than ever before: adding a sweet filling in the center, stuffed with extra cream cheese icing.

Pillsbury said its new Pumpkin Stuffed Cupcake Kit is inspired by the “strong seasonal excitement surrounding pumpkin flavors” and consumers’ “growing desire for easy, experiential baking activities at home.” Each box includes its Perfectly Pumpkin cake mix and Cream Cheese-flavored icing (both items are also returning to shelves as their own standalone products).

And unlike other at-home recipes, there’s no messy scooping of cream cheese required. Each 21.25-ounce box of Pillsbury’s Pumpkin Stuffed Cupcake Kit yields 24 cupcakes and all consumers need to do is add water, oil, eggs, and the filling from the cream cheese pouch (which we’re told bakes up perfectly right in the middle of the cupcake) to create warm, soft cupcakes with a sweet surprise inside.

Pillsbury’s Pumpkin Stuffed Cupcake Kit is currently available at Target and Walmart stores, with a nationwide grocery store rollout happening this month (prices may vary).
