With several slip-ups from past presidents, eagle-eyed onlookers watch the steep Air Force One staircase like the halftime show.
This weekend, they got what they wanted, though it wasn’t a stumble on the steps made famous by former commanders in chief, such as Ford and Biden.
President Donald Trump, long known for his signature combover well before his days as The Apprentice host and unforeseen political career, stepped off Air Force One in New Jersey looking noticeably different for his Labor Day weekend golf trip.
His usual golden-blond locks seemed to be replaced by a much darker, almost brunette shade, leaving the internet to do what the internet does.

Comments rained down across social media, even from public figures.
Jeopardy winner Hemant Mehta said, “If I hadn’t pulled the photos from Getty Images myself, I wouldn’t have believed it.”
Author Annie Lamott remarked, ““I love it. So youthful. Very Pierce Brosnan.”
Obviously, average Joes and Janes had something to say too. One NY Post reader didn’t hold back either, “He applied shoe polish in case it might rain this weekend”.
While another went full-blown Kill Tony, “He should be the spokesperson for depends.”

In fairness, Trump has poked fun at himself numerous times in the past, including during a 2018 CPAC speech when he turned around and showed the crowd the back of his hair, revealing a noticeable bald spot.
“I try like hell to hide that bald spot, folks. I work hard at it,” Trump joked. “It doesn’t look bad. “We’re hanging in there folks — together we are hanging in.”
And then there was his infamous 2016 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, when Trump let the late-night host dishevel his blond mane to prove that it was, indeed, real.
There’s no response from the White House thus far, but perhaps the better question will be which journalist is bold enough to broach the topic.
