Remington Hospitality Teams Up with Smart Hotel Manager to Advance Emergency Preparedness with Mobile-First Platform

Smart Hotel Manager, a technology company focused on modernizing hotel safety operations, is working with Remington Hospitality to advance its Live Safety platform. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to embedding real-time preparedness into the fabric of daily hotel operations.

Seven Remington properties deployed Smart Hotel Manager’s Live Safety platform to simplify emergency response, streamline compliance training, and improve staff readiness at the property level. Designed for high-turnover environments, the mobile platform provides instant access to location-specific safety protocols, multilingual audio support, and real-time engagement tracking — helping hotels move beyond outdated binders and fragmented safety plans. The research pilot was built around key operational challenges facing hotels today: staff turnover, fragmented compliance processes, and delayed response protocols during critical incidents.

“Hotels operate in high-stakes environments where traditional emergency plans — usually paper-based and outdated — fall short,” said Vanessa Osbourne, CEO of Smart Hotel Manager. “We’re building technology that makes preparedness easier to maintain and faster to activate, regardless of a staff member’s language, experience level, or role.”

Feedback from frontline hotel teams was uniformly positive, particularly around ease of use, engagement tracking, and the ability to quickly access site-specific procedures. Property teams also noted that using the Live Safety app improved onboarding consistency and increased confidence across shifts — an increasingly urgent priority in today’s labour-constrained environment.

“Preparedness should not be a static document,” added Osbourne. “It should be embedded into daily operations, reinforced regularly, and adaptable in real time. That’s what we’re developing with our hotel partners.”

Based on ongoing feedback from Remington properties, Smart Hotel Manager is introducing new capabilities, including streamlined navigation and push notifications, to support faster mobilization during drills and real incidents. The project is continuing across additional Remington hotels, with a focus on measuring performance metrics such as response time and regional compliance standards.

This ongoing collaboration reflects a broader shift in how the hospitality industry is approaching safety: moving from manual, reactive protocols to mobile tools that are accessible, transparent, and audit-ready from day one.

Smart Hotel Manager is expanding adoption of its platform across hospitality brands, management companies, and independents of all sizes, applying insights from each collaboration to deliver technology that’s intuitive, audit-ready, and built for the evolving realities of hotel operations.

Hotel groups looking to modernize their safety protocols and strengthen operational preparedness are invited to connect with Smart Hotel Manager to explore how Live Safety can be tailored to their team, region, and compliance needs.
