Rhea Seehorn wins Golden Globes award, teases Pluribus season 2 is in the works

The wait for Pluribus season 2 becomes more agonizing by the day, but fans have plenty to celebrate while they wait, as Rhea Seehorn earned Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series at the 2026 Golden Globes last night.

Vince Gilligan’s Apple TV Plus series took the world by storm late last year. In it, Seehorn stars as grouchy romantasy author Carol Sturka, whose life gets transformed after everyone around her becomes inducted into a global hive-mind. Unfortunately, some individuals, including Carol’s wife Helen (Miriam Shor), die in the process. While this new virus makes everyone deliriously happy and ends conflicts like war, Carol is determined to disrupt the hivemind’s plans and restore the world to its original state.

Pluribus was easily one of Polygon’s favorite TV shows of 2025, and Seehorn’s performance in particular was phenomenal. The way she captures Carol’s determined, take-nothing-lying-down attitude, while also tapping into real moments of vulnerability, made for some truly enjoyable television. It’s no surprise, then, that, alongside her win for her performance as Carol at the Golden Globes, Seehorn also took home Best Actress in a Drama Series at the Critics’ Choice Awards.

Taking to the stage to accept her Golden Globes win, Seehorn profusely thanked Gilligan for writing her “the role of a lifetime.” Of course, Pluribus isn’t the first time that Gilligan and Seehorn have worked together, as the actress also played the charismatic Kim Wexler in Gilligan’s Breaking Bad spin-off, Better Call Saul. Alongside her co-star, Bob Odenkirk, as Saul Goodman, Seehorn has wowed audiences for well over a decade. The role of Carol was written by Gilligan specifically for Seehorn, so it’s even more satisfying to see her get her flowers.

Better yet, it might not be a long time until we see the actress nominated for another award for her role as Carol Sturka. Seehorn has confirmed to Deadline that Pluribus will be back for season 2 as fast as possible. The team is back in the writing room, and Gilligan is keen to get started.

“I know [Gilligan] wants us to go as soon as possible. He’s not playing any kind of game to make people wait for this. But he wants to craft the show with all the care for his fans and the people following this story that he can. So we’ll get back as fast as we can.”
