Oscar winners Russell Crowe and Rami Malek lead the charge in Nuremberg, a psychological cat-and-mouse thriller set to make its SVOD debut next month exclusively on Netflix in the US.
Directed and written by James Vanderbilt (Zodiac, Truth), the film premiered in theaters late in 2025 via Sony Pictures Classics and grossed over $45 million at the global box office. Now, as part of the ongoing “Pay-1” window agreement between distributor Sony Pictures and Netflix, the film is moving to its streaming home.
We can confirm that Nuremberg (2025) is scheduled to arrive on Netflix US on Saturday, March 7th, 2026. That’s exactly 120 days following its theatrical release, still one of the most robust theatrical windows in the industry.
It’ll stream for a total of 18 months before jumping over to Disney services, in this case, Hulu. Netflix India is also expected to pick up the movie in March alongside a few other regions although the vast majority of other countries on Netflix will have to wait until 2027-2028 for the movie to jump over. Netflix does have an upcoming global agreement with Sony Pictures, but this particular title falls outside of its remit.
What to expect from ‘Nuremberg’
Based on the acclaimed non-fiction book The Nazi and the Psychiatrist by Jack El-Hai, the film moves away from the traditional courtroom drama to focus on the psychological battle in the prison cells behind the scenes.
The story follows Douglas Kelley (Malek), a brilliant U.S. Army psychiatrist tasked with a daunting mission: evaluate the mental fitness of the Nazi high command to ensure they are fit for trial. His primary target is Hermann Göring (Crowe), Hitler’s eerily charismatic and manipulative right-hand man. As Kelley attempts to decode the “anatomy of evil,” he finds himself in a high-stakes duel of wits with a man who uses his narcissism and intellect as a weapon.
The movie has overperformed with audiences, earning an impressive 95% score on Rotten Tomatoes and the Verified Hot label based on over 1,000 ratings. With critics, the movie still performed well, sitting at 72%. Among the chorus of positive reviews, Barry Levitt for Empire Magazine wrote, “Well-paced, expertly performed, and an urgent call to stand up to fascism, Nuremberg is a powerful, sweeping story of the attempt to bring an unthinkable evil to justice.”
