Spotify’s Summer Predictions Hint at a Big Moment for Country Music

29 May 20263 Mins Read

Every summer, there’s always that one song that you hear everywhere. It becomes the track we blast from car windows; the tune that shows up on every beach playlist; the song that follows us around for three straight months.

Spotify just revealed the songs it believes could dominate Summer 2026, and the list says a lot about where music is heading right now.

Song of the Summer 2026

This year’s predictions lean heavily into country, emotional pop and dance tracks designed for warm weather. Some of the biggest contenders already feel built for repeat listens.

Spotify’s full 2026 Songs of Summer predictions list includes:

  • “Talk to You” by ANOTR, 54 Ultra
  • “CHÉVERE (premium_remix)” by ARIA VEGA, Ryan Castro
  • “hate that I made you love me” by Ariana Grande
  • “New Religion” by Bebe Rexha, Faithless
  • “Kingdom of Fear” by Cameron Whitcomb
  • “Bangaranga” by DARA
  • “Raindance (feat. Tems)” by Dave, Tems
  • “Freakin’ Out” by Dexter and the Moonrocks
  • “Babydoll” by Dominic Fike
  • “E85” by Don Toliver
  • “Kakalika” by DopeNation
  • “Janice STFU” by Drake
  • “Choosin’ Texas” by Ella Langley
  • “NOBLE” by F3miii
  • “L.U.C.K.Y” by Fcukers
  • “Jamaican (Bam Bam)” by HUGEL, SOLTO
  • “Mexico Honey” by Kacey Musgraves
  • “Earrings” by Malcolm Todd
  • “Maladie” by Mauvais djo
  • “Doors” by Noah Kahan
  • “drop dead” by Olivia Rodrigo
  • “KOKO” by Omar Courtz
  • “Girl Like Me” by PinkPantheress
  • “Free Your Mind” by Prospa, Cloonee
  • “Rein Me In” by Sam Fender, Olivia Dean
  • “DANCE…’ by Slayyyter
  • “Boston” by STELLA LEFTY
  • “Dracula — JENNIE Remix” by Tame Impala, JENNIE
  • “Self Aware” by Temper City
  • “Midnight Sun” by Zara Larsson

Zara Larsson‘s “Midnight Sun” taps into shimmering early-2000s dance-pop energy.

PinkPantheress‘ “Girl Like Me” continues the recent trend of reviving club sounds that feel both retro and futuristic at the same time.

“New Religion” from Bebe Rexha and Faithless samples one of dance music’s most recognizable eras, giving it instant listenability.

“Jamaican (Bam Bam)” by HUGEL and SOLTO, another nostalgia-heavy track expected to explode this summer.

Country is also having a major moment on this year’s list.

Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas,” Kacey Musgraves‘ “Mexico Honey” and Noah Kahan’s “Doors” all fit into Spotify’s “postcard country” category, one that’s reflective songs tied to specific places, memories and moods.

Instead of loud summer party anthems, many of these tracks feel quieter and more emotional, the kind of songs made for road trips and sunset playlists.

What’s Your Song of the Summer?

Did your favorite summer bop make the list? Do you disagree entirely and have a different song you’ll call your “SOTS??” Let us know in the comments!

Spotify is also letting listeners vote inside the app for what they think the official Song of the Summer will be, adding a little friendly competition to the season’s playlist wars.
