Spruce Meadows is hosting a Barbie-themed summer experience in Calgary

28 May 20263 Mins Read

Spruce Meadows is turning into a Barbie Dreamhouse this summer for one very pink weekend.

The iconic Calgary grounds are being taken over by a Barbie-themed experience that brings together horse shows, roller skating, outdoor movies, and shopping — all in one place.

A full Barbie takeover

From June 12 to June 14, 2026, Spruce Meadows will host The National Show Jumping Tournament, but with a very special twist. Alongside the usual show-jumping, the grounds will be transformed into a Barbie-themed experience.

According to organizers, there will be tons of Barbie-themed activations throughout the venue, including giveaways, interactive Barbie boxes, and plenty of photo-worthy moments. One of the event’s biggest features is the Think Pink Roller Rink, presented by Biggies.

On Saturday, June 13, there will be an exclusive ticketed event called the ChangemakeHER Forum, which brings together women from sport, business, media and beyond. The experience will focus on conversations highlighting leadership, ambition, and impact.

And to end off each night, there will be live performances from artists like Dallas Smith and Maren Morris.

In addition to all the Barbie takeover, the weekend will still include the classic Spruce Meadows experience people know and love. Across the venue, you’ll find live music, shopping, kids’ activities, animal experiences like corgi and dachshund races, and a mini petting zoo.

What to know before you go

One of the best parts of this event is its accessibility, with general admission starting at $15 per person and discounts automatically applied to groups of four or more.

According to Spruce Meadows, a portion of the weekend proceeds will go to the Leg Up Foundation, which supports local Alberta organizations focused on education and community programs.

Each day will offer a slightly different experience, and it’s worth checking out the full schedule on the Spruce Meadows’ website beforehand, and picking the day that best fits what you want to see.

The event is mostly outdoors, with a few events happening inside, so it’s important to dress for the weather, but we can only hope for sunshine!

It’s not every day you get to experience a full Barbie takeover here in Calgary, so this is definitely one of those things you’ll want to take advantage of, especially since it’s only here for a limited time.

When: Friday, June 12 to Sunday, June 14, 2026
Time: Times vary based on activity
Where: Spruce Meadows – 18011 Spruce Meadows Way SW, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: Starting at $15
