The St. Regis on the Bund, Shanghai has officially opened seven renovated luxury suites, each offering unobstructed views of the Bund, the Lujiazui skyline, and Yu Garden. The suites’ design is inspired by Parisian art ateliers, with soft neutral palettes and detailed materials. The John Jacob Astor Bund View Suite features three works by Zhang Tianjun: Crossing the Mountains, Morning Mist in Winter, and Stream.

The hotel has also launched an artist-in-residence program titled The Journey, developed in collaboration with Zhang Tianjun. Zhang is recognized for his interpretation of oriental landscapes and his La Puerta series, which uses the imagery of a door to connect physical and spiritual worlds. The program aims to integrate art into the guest experience at the property.

Artworks by Zhang Tianjun are displayed throughout the hotel’s public areas. The St. Regis Bar features seasonal landscape works from the La Puerta series, and Spago Shanghai, which opened last November, displays large-scale pieces by the artist. The hotel describes this initiative as creating a living gallery experience across both guest suites and public spaces.

The St. Regis on the Bund, Shanghai states that the unveiling of the new suites and the artist-in-residence program marks a milestone in its ongoing spatial and cultural developments. The property indicates an intention to continue integrating contemporary art and aesthetics into its offerings.
