This 5k race in Edmonton will have colourful bogs of bubbles to run through

24 July 20263 Mins Read

Bubble Chase is taking over Edmonton’s Capilano Park for the most colourful run the city has ever seen. Folks can make their way through a sea of bubble bogs during the event, making this magical, messy race like no other.

If you aren’t familiar with this popular race, it’s a 5-kilometre course (2.5 kilometres, technically, done twice) featuring four coloured bubble bogs throughout. This event is less about setting serious personal records and more about having some serious fun. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned competitor, you’re guaranteed to have a good time during this run.

Not to mention, this race helps a different charity organization each year. For 2026, Big Brother Big Sisters in Edmonton will be receiving 100 per cent of the profits earned from Bubble Chase.

Wanting to get in on the action? There’s still time to register, so let’s get you all the details.

How does the Bubble Chase work?

First things first: there is no age minimum or maximum for this run. Both wheelchairs and strollers are permitted on the course, meaning the entire family can get in on this madness.

The run itself is on a 2.5-kilometre course on Aug. 8, which you’ll go through completely twice. This means double the bubble action, double the fun. You can choose between doing one loop or finishing the race in its entirety; it’s all up to you. Whether you’re walking, running, or dancing your way through the bubbles, it’s all looking good.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the race itself is not timed. If you’re looking to keep track, the organizers suggest bringing a device of your own.

Don’t worry about being covered in bubbles all day, either. On site, there will be water available to rinse off the bubbles after you’ve completed the race. No need to fret!

Registration is open online to those looking to participate from now until the day of the race.

For adults, meaning those above 18, registration costs $54.99 and includes your entry wristband as well as the medal itself. Those 18 and under can register for $28.99 with the same inclusions. If you decide to take part, you will be able to pick up your packets on race day, Aug. 8.

Get your running shoes on, because this is definitely a race you’re going to want to be a part of.

When: Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026
Time: Run begins at 10 a.m.
Where: Capilano Park Rd. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: $54.99
