This New IKEA Cabinet Has the Loveliest Woven Detailing, and Looks Way More Expensive Than It Is

Storage cabinets are weirdly complicated. On paper, it sounds easy: you need somewhere to stash stuff, so you buy a cabinet. But then you start looking and realize there are approximately 7,000 options, and somehow most of them either look like office furniture or feel way too bulky. Finding one that actually works with your space and adds something to the room can feel a little like spotting a unicorn in the furniture aisle (which, I mean, how cool would that be?).

This is where IKEA has always had a strange superpower. The retailer somehow cracked the code on making storage furniture that doesn’t just solve a problem but also looks like it belongs there. Its pieces tend to walk that line between functional and decorative, where you can hide the random cords, extra blankets, board games or whatever else has taken over your house, without introducing another giant eyesore into the room.

IKEA PS 2026Cabinet in Pine, $499 at IKEA

Because sometimes you don’t just need more storage. You need storage that doesn’t make your home feel like a storage unit, which is why I think you’ll love the IKEA PS 2026 Cabinet. It has a warm, natural look that makes a room feel a little less sterile and a little more lived in. And there are these gorgeous handwoven doors that add texture without being too busy, so it feels more like furniture you’d want people to notice instead of something you’re trying to hide in a corner.

One of the nice things about it is that the inside is open with no dividers, which means you’re not stuck trying to squeeze bulkier stuff into awkward compartments. There are three adjustable shelves and, since it’s real pine, each piece has its own look with natural variations in the wood. It’ll also change a bit over time because that’s just how pine operates, but it’s the kind of wear that gives it character instead of making it look worn out.

Now if your eyes are popping out of their sockets because of that $499 price tag for an IKEA piece, I get it. However, I have seen other cabinets and wardrobe with a similar aesthetic, like Pottery Barn’s Bolinas Woven Armoire, for more than four times the price of the IKEA version. Just a little something to think about as you’re budgeting and furniture shopping.
