Lee Sung Jin’s critically acclaimed and eight Primetime Emmy Award-winning series, Beef, is returning for a second season with a brand new cast on April 16, 2026. Netflix has released first-look images and a brand-new teaser trailer for the second season. Here’s everything we know so far.

Created by Lee Sung Jin, the first season, released in April 2023, was produced by A24 Television (one of many great A24 titles they’ve produced for Netflix), starring Steven Yeun and Ali Wong, with their characters going toe-to-toe with each other over the course of 10 episodes following a road rage incident that triggers a petty rivalry. It received countless awards and high audience and critics’ scores, but initially was conceived as a limited series…

When was Beef renewed for season 2 at Netflix?

The renewal for the second season of Beef has been confirmed! On February 26th, 2024, the news broke that Beef creator Lee Sung Jin was eyeing up the cast for the second season. Given how well Beef was praised by audiences and critics and rewarded with eight Primetime Emmys, including the Outstanding Limited Series or Anthology Series award, it’s no surprise that Netflix has greenlit a new season.

Backstage at the Emmys, Lee Jung-sin hinted at the future of Beef on Netflix, “I feel like there are so many paths. It could stay limited; it was a very close-ended story for sure. But if Netflix wanted to continue, it could also be an anthology. It could be many things. It’s up to the great algorithm. We’re all waiting to hear.”

When is Beef season 2 coming to Netflix?

It was already confirmed in Netflix’s 2026 line-up that Beef season 2 is coming on April 16, 2026.

The first teaser trailer for the second season dropped in early March, and just two weeks before it’s big release, the full official trailer landed:

What can we expect from the second season of Beef?

Netflix has dropped a detailed synopsis for Beef season 2:

“BEEF returns with a new cast and a new “beef,” as a Gen-Z couple witnesses an alarming fight between their Millennial boss and his wife. Newly-engaged Ashley Miller (Cailee Spaeny) and Austin Davis (Charles Melton), both lower-level staff at a country club, become entangled in the unraveling marriage of their General Manager, Joshua Martín (Oscar Isaac), and his wife, Lindsay Crane-Martín (Carey Mulligan). Through favors and coercion, both couples vie for the approval of the elitist club’s billionaire owner, Chairwoman Park (Youn Yuh Jung), who struggles to manage her own scandal involving her second husband, Doctor Kim (Song Kang Ho).”

Who are the cast members of Beef Season 2?

Multiple names have been confirmed to star in the second season of Beef: Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Charles Melton, Cailee Spaeny, and Yuh-Jung Youn.
