This trend is primarily driven by the introduction of digital nomad visas, which enable non-EU citizens to live and work in countries such as Spain, Portugal, and Italy. Nearly one in five have experienced emotional distress due to isolation, and a quarter have misrepresented their enjoyment of the lifestyle to friends and family. To combat this, 29% have joined co-living or coworking hubs, and 40% regularly attend social events to foster community ties.
