U.S. Figure Skater Alysa Liu Involved in Exciting Announcement

U.S. Olympic figure skating champion Alysa Liu is stepping into the fashion spotlight in a big way. 

The 20-year-old gold medalist has officially joined Louis Vuitton as its newest brand ambassador, marking a major crossover moment between elite sports and luxury style.

The French fashion house revealed the news through a series of Instagram photos, showing Liu dressed in denim looks. 

Alongside the images, Liu shared a heartfelt message about the milestone: “Stepping into this new chapter as a Louis Vuitton Ambassador is an honor and a privelege, especially for a figure skater to be recognized in this way, and I take so much pride in that.”

Her appointment comes shortly after attending Nicolas Ghesquière’s Fall 2026 show during Paris Fashion Week, where her presence signaled a growing connection between the rising star and the iconic brand.

Liu now joins a lineup of global athletes connected to the brand, including tennis star Carlos Alcaraz, basketball standout Victor Wembanyama, skateboarder Yuto Horigome and table tennis player Wang Chuqin. 

Previous ambassadors have also included Olympic gold medalist Eileen Gu and Brazilian skateboarder Rayssa Leal.

The partnership adds to Liu’s growing list of collaborations. She already works with sportswear giant Nike and recently appeared in a campaign for Sephora, another brand under the LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton umbrella.

Liu’s rise to global fame has been anything but ordinary. At the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, she made history as the first American woman since 2002 to win individual Olympic gold in figure skating. She also secured gold in the team event, cementing her place as one of the sport’s brightest stars.

Known for her playful personality and Gen Z style, Liu has become a standout figure both on and off the ice. She is famous for her “halo” hair, striped in blond and brunette, and her bold fashion choices, including a smiley piercing. A self-described fashion fan, she even designs her own skating costumes.

Her skating career has also been marked by groundbreaking achievements. Liu became the first woman to land both a triple axel and a quadruple jump in a single program. After briefly retiring at age 16, she returned two years later with a fresh mindset focused on creativity and self-expression.

Recently, Liu has also remained active in the public eye. She attended a special “Champions Night” for the Broadway musical & Juliet, alongside fellow U.S. Olympic figure skaters, showing her continued presence in entertainment and cultural events.

With her new role at Louis Vuitton, Liu is expanding her reach even further.
