Vancouver is getting a free beachside patio party for one day only this July

16 June 20263 Mins Read

Vanier Park is a quintessential summer hangout spot in the city, and this July, it’s getting a lively patio party hosted by three of Vancouver’s most iconic cultural attractions: The Museum of Vancouver, Vancouver Maritime Museum, and the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre.

For one day only, all three of the museums’ patios will be filled with live music, flowing drinks, and hands-on activities that will have you in the ultimate summer mood. And the evening is completely free to enjoy!

Visitors will get to soak up the incredible waterfront views at each museum, exploring the city’s diverse history, music, space exploration, and local art in the process. There will also be a solar telescope to safely view the sun through, as well as an immersive augmented reality journey through the solar system.

So no matter where your interests or curiosities lie, there’s something for everyone at this patio party.

During the event, the Vancouver Maritime Museum will have extended gallery hours, opening until 8 p.m. This gives you plenty of time to enjoy the outdoor festivities and immerse yourself in fascinating exhibits like the historic St. Roch vessel, which showcases what life was like on the water.

The patio here will have its own beer garden as well as local food vendors, and not to mention, spectacular views of English Bay.

At the Museum of Vancouver, you’ll find free live music by a variety of local artists followed by an open mic session to cap off the evening. Here, there will be refreshing non-alcoholic mocktails to sip on before you duck into the museum galleries, which are open until 8 p.m.

Here is the full live music lineup at the Museum of Vancouver:

  • Romeo Reyes – 5:30 p.m.
  • Francis Baptiste – 6:30 p.m.
  • DFX daffodil – 7:30 p.m.
  • Lola Whyte – 8:30 p.m.
  • Open Mic – 9:30 p.m.

The inaugural Kits Point Patio Party will take place on Friday, July 3, from 5 to 10 p.m. While it’s completely free to attend (no tickets required), admission to each museum is priced separately.

If you head to Vanier Park in the next couple of days, you might even catch the FIFA World Cup ball rolling around!

Mark your calendars, Vancouver.

When: Friday, July 3, 2026
Time: 5 to 10 p.m.
Where: Museum of Vancouver (1100 Chestnut St.), H.R. MacMillan Space Centre (1100 Chestnut St.), and the Vancouver Maritime Museum (1905 Ogden Ave.)
Cost: Free admission
