‘When Calls the Heart’ Prequel ‘Hope Valley: 1874’ Premieres Tomorrow — Watch an Exclusive Sneak Peek

While we’re only a few days away from the Season 13 finale of When Calls the Heart, Hearties are also awaiting the premiere of Hope Valley: 1874, the new prequel series coming to Hallmark+ that tells the story of the early beginnings of the burg we now know as Hope Valley (it was originally Coal Valley). The new series will have plenty of Easter eggs for fans. The eight-episode first season premieres exclusively on the network’s streaming platform, Hallmark+ and hopefully a determination on Season 2 won’t be left in limbo as did their first spinoff series, When Hope Calls, which ultimately was not picked up by Hallmark Channel but later picked up by Great American Family for Seasons 2 and 3, which will premiere in April.

What is Hope Valley: 1874 about?

In 1874, Rebecca Clarke (Bethany Joy Lenz) travels with her 11-year-old daughter to the Canadian frontier in search of a new life.  When she realizes the boardinghouse she purchased is not as advertised, she has no choice but to accept help from local rancher Tom Moore (Benjamin Ayres).
