When will ‘Dark Winds’ Season 4 be on Netflix? Updated Release Schedule

Dark Winds recently returned to AMC for season 4, but you may be like millions of others who have discovered the show through Netflix. Here’s what we know about the fourth season thus far and when it will be hitting Netflix.

To bring you all up to speed on the arrival of Dark Winds on Netflix thus far, here’s a recap. Netflix US was the first to pick up the licensing rights back in the Summer of 2024 as part of a deal with AMC that brought some of its biggest shows to the streamer, with seasons 1 and 2 added. The US picked up season 3 in October 2025. That third season arrived as Netflix renewed its output deal with AMC in August 2025 bringing new seasons of existing shows in addition to brand new shows altogether, such as the five that dropped throughout December.

Since its arrival through June 2025, the show has garnered 19.2 million viewing equivalents on Netflix with 87.5 million hours watched. It’s spent 41 individual days in the TV US top 10s and the daily top 10s of 29 other countries.

Netflix also added the show in more international regions (at least 30, according to our records) in the latter months of 2025, including Australia, the United Kingdom, some European territories, and Latin America. Most are streaming seasons 1 and 2, with the UK only carrying season 1.

OK with that housekeeping out of the way, what is happening with season 4? When did it arrive on AMC, and will it be available on Netflix where you live?

What we know about Dark Winds season 4

In case you missed it, AMC renewed the acclaimed noir drama for a fourth season ahead of season 3 airing earlier in 2025.

Season 4 began filming in Santa Fe in March 2025, runs eight hour-long episodes, and marks Zahn McClarnon’s first turn in the director’s chair. McClarnon returns as Lt. Joe Leaphorn alongside Kiowa Gordon, Jessica Matten, and Deanna Allison, with showrunner John Wirth continuing to steer the series.

The fourth season arrived on February 15, 2026, at 9 pm ET/PT on AMC and AMC+ in the United States, expanding the show’s scope as the hunt for a missing Navajo girl takes Leaphorn, Chee, and Manuelito from the reservation to 1970s Los Angeles and into the crosshairs of an organized crime network.

New cast members Franka Potente, Isabel DeRoy Olson, Chaske Spencer, Luke Barnett, and Titus Welliver joined the ensemble, with A. Martinez is also returning.

Will Dark Winds season 4 come to Netflix?

This is where things get a little tricky for some territories, though we do have some exciting official news for international viewers: Latin American regions of Netflix will officially pick up Dark Winds season 4 beginning April 5th, 2026. This also extends to select European territories including the Netherlands. That coincides with the series finale’s exact date. 

For the United States, our understanding is that, under the current agreement, Netflix is keeping Dark Winds through July 4th, 2027. As we’ve covered before, the removal times are often timed to exactly a year after the new season drops. If that holds true, you’ll be able to watch Dark Winds season 4 on Netflix US starting July 4th, 2026, but don’t be shocked if it’s a bit later with AMC, hoping that you’ll make the jump to their platform to watch. 

In other regions outside of Latin America and the US, you’ll likely have to wait a bit longer, though we don’t have any firm predictions or dates just yet.

Netflix has previously declined to comment on AMC additions. A representative for AMC has not responded to previous requests for comment.
