Mina the Hollower involves a lot of exploration, so naturally, your best friend will be a map. However, the map is a little different in Mina the Hollower. The map isn’t a bird’s eye view of each region, but rather an overview of Tenebrous Isle as a whole.
Although it’s not as helpful as it could be, the map is still an important tool to grab because it’ll show you which areas you haven’t completed, and help you figure out where you should go next. Additionally, you can enhance the map to receive a checklist that shows you all the collectibles that you’ve found in each region.
Here’s how to get the map in Mina the Hollower.
Where to find the map in Mina the Hollower
To get the map in Mina the Hollower, you’ll need to rescue Rhene and Drillhardt. First, you’ll need to gain access to the Hollower’s Guild, which is located directly to the right of Ossex’s main entrance. To get inside, you’ll need to break the boxes on the right side of the building and hop your way in.
Burrow into the hole in the north wall and talk to Muriel, who’ll tell you, “They headed south, through the burnt town.” Before you leave Ossex, make sure you have at least one kear (keys in Mina the Hollower).
Head straight south from Ossex’s main entrance until you reach the end of the path. Go up the stairs on the left and use the kear to unlock the path to the north. Then, defeat the enemy ahead and step on the button to the north, which will remove the spikes across the gap. Jump over and input one of your plasma vials into the yellow gate with a “1” on it to gain access to the building.
Defeat the enemies inside and step on the button in the top right corner of the room. Go up the stairs on the right. Continue on, while defeating the enemies and burrowing under the traps, until you reach Rhene. Use a plasma vial to heal them, and then they’ll start to follow you around.
From here, you’ll need to escort them out of the building. However, keep in mind that Rhene cannot burrow and will only jump across one-block gaps. If they can’t follow you at any point, they’ll stay in place from where you lost them.
To get out of the building, you’ll need to press all the buttons in the next room and safely bring Rhene to the exit in the northwest corner of the room. We recommend leaving Rhene somewhere safe as you press all the buttons and clear out all the enemies. You’ll need to burrow in the bottom right corner of the room to reach two of the buttons and then make your way to the southwest corner of the room where you’ll find the last button. Now, you can safely bring Rhene through the opened gates and follow the path in the southwest corner to the northwest corner.
In the next room, defeat the enemies and break the boxes in the top right to find a button. Step on it to lower the spikes and exit the building.
Rhene will then meet you back at the Hollower’s Guild, so start heading back to Ossex. If you’re quick enough, you can follow them all the way back, but Rhene does cheat a little bit by jumping across an entire gap.
Go inside the Hollower’s Guild, and Rhene and Muriel will tidy the place up a bit. In the bottom left corner, you’ll see a green spiral sticking out of a rock. Break it, and Drillhardt will pop out of the ground. Interact with them to check their shop, which will have a map for 500 bones. After you purchase it, you can find the map in the northwest corner of the Underlab. The map will show you every region you’ve been to. If you’ve restored the spark generator in that region, it will also be lit. If you haven’t been to a region, it will be shrouded in dark clouds.
To get the enhanced map, which will provide you with a checklist for the regions you’ve visited, you’ll need to restore three spark generators. Then, Drillhardt’s shop will update with the enhanced map, which you can purchase for 500 bones. The enhanced map will give you a checklist detailing all of the collectibles you’ve found in an area. However, to see the checklist, you’ll need to first restore the spark generator in the area. For some regions, you’ll need to restore multiple.
