The Marvel Cinematic Universe releases blockbusters every year, and that means the stars work hard to promote them. A normal stop for stars is Saturday Night Live, where they can poke fun at current events and themselves.
Tom Hollandisn’t one of them and revealed why he’s petrified to do the show.

Holland, 29, revealed on Good Hang with Amy Poehler that Saturday Night Live asked him to host repeatedly. He said he loves watching the show, but there is one reason he keeps saying no.
“I’m heavily dyslexic, which is one of the reasons why and I’d love to talk to you today about it actually, why I’ve never done SNL,” he told Poehler, 54. She realized it was because of the cue cards. “I’m just so petrified at the concept of like trying to read something, and they change.”

Poehler believes that other dyslexics hosted the show. “I can read fine,” the actor continued. “But when I have to read out loud, it just becomes kind of…it’s a kind of mental block, and I can freeze.”
This makes him reading through the script as an actor his hardest challenge. But he tries to learn his lines beforehand to avoid freezing.
Saturday Night Live starts the week with writers pitching ideas which are decided by Wednesday. The scripts are handed to the cue card writer, Wally Feresten, when the script is edited later in the week.
The edits are sometimes made for better jokes. But the sketches are also updated to include current events that happen later in the week.
Actors and cast members have often talked about the pressure around the show. It’s no surprise that some avoid hosting for that reason.
