As we head into the end of summer, Edmonton is absolutely packed with fun things to do this weekend, including festivals, markets, and thrilling outdoor escape rooms.

We’ve rounded up a variety of things to do over the next few days for you to check out. Whether you’re planning a fun date, a chill family gathering, or a day out with the girls, we’ve got you covered. Now, let’s jump into some of the best activities and events lined up for the weekend.

If you’re familiar with Fort Edmonton Park‘s Where Dark Things Dwell, its highly anticipated sequel has arrived.

Teams of four will work together in this escape “room” experience to solve puzzles, uncover clues, and complete challenges throughout the park’s 1885 Street, racing to break a mysterious curse before time runs out.

When: Now until Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026
Time: 6 and 8:30 p.m.
Where: Fort Edmonton Park — 7000 143rd St. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: $35

Before the end of August, Rock Jungle Climbing will be offering free rock climbing at all three of its Edmonton locations (Factory, Boulders, and Niche) all day long.

When: Friday, Aug. 28, 2026
Time: Open to close
Where: Factory Climbing — 10247 184th St. NW, Edmonton; Boulders Climbing — 10505 107th St. NW, Edmonton; Niche Climbing — 10340 71st Ave. NW, Edmonton
Cost: Free

The country-music festival originated in Ontario, and last year it announced it would be coming to Alberta for the first time ever. With headliners like Russell Dickerson and Shaboozey, the festival is bringing all the energy out into the wild west.

When: Friday, Aug. 28, and Saturday, Aug. 29, 2026
Time: Gates at 3 p.m., ending at 11 p.m.
Where: Fan Park — 10128 104th Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: $154+

Northern Enchanted Faire is coming to the Edmonton area as an exciting new medieval faire, featuring knights, armoured combat, and an entire Viking village to explore.

If you’re ready to take a step back in time, you’ll definitely want to check this new event out.

When: Friday, Aug. 28, to Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026
Time: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday (market open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.); 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday
Where: 53462 Range Rd. 225, Sherwood Park, Alta.
Cost: $5+

Southwest Edmonton is going to be lighting up this August with some incredible energy, all thanks to Ignite Market’s first-ever event. You’re going to want to mark your calendar, because the first year of Ignite Market is already shaping up to be an amazing one.

When: Friday, Aug. 28, to Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026
Time: 4 to 11 p.m.
Where: 2051 Leger Rd., Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: Free

This upcoming craft event is inviting people in Edmonton to bring their own craft project or get ready to start a new one, enjoy the local food trucks, and celebrate the wonderful community through these free activities. It doesn’t matter if you’re an experienced crafter or simply someone looking for a new hobby; Craft for YEG welcomes all.

When: Saturday, Aug. 29, 2026
Time: Noon to 4 p.m.
Where: O’day-min Park — 10150 107th St. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: Free

This market in Old Strathcona has been around for ages, and it’s Edmonton’s premier farmers market. Being the original year-rounder, this place offers the best locally grown and made goods as well as trinkets you won’t be able to find anywhere else.

When: Every Saturday and Sunday
Time: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays
Where: 10310 83rd Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: Free

Queen Mary’s Market is located in the heart of Edmonton and offers over 130 vendors, as well as five individual restaurants within the building. This market features strong local vendors with a selection of antiques, rare collectibles, local produce, artisanal goods, and services.

When: Every Saturday and Sunday
Time: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays
Where: 12011 111th Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: Free

With over 50 vendors, this free pop-up market by Lost and Found Expo is going to be heating things up. Expect live entertainment and activities for everyone, as well as a live DJ spinning tunes all day while you search through vintage streetwear, shoes, and more.

When: Saturday, Aug. 29, and Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026
Time: Noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday; Noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday
Where: 10025 102A Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: Free

This is Edmonton’s largest and longest-standing outdoor market, offering over 200 vendors and a wonderful variety of handmade goods and locally produced treats. It’s a great community-driven market that’s perfect for those looking to get closer to bakers, chefs, artisans, and more.

When: Every Sunday until Oct. 11, 2026
Time: 10 a.m to 3 p.m.
Where: 6655 178th St. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
