We’re in for a drizzly week, and fortunately, all of these events take place indoors. So no need to resign yourself to a week at home; from indie-rock concerts to an epic latte art showdown and the Concacaf Champions Cup, here are 10 of the best things to do in and around Vancouver this week (Feb. 23-27).

With a grand prize of $1,500 on the line, Ellipsis is hosting a massive latte art showdown for the best of the best. If you love the craft of a great pour, this is the event for you.

When: Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026
Time: 6 to 9:30 p.m.
Where: 1540 West 2nd Ave. 
Cost: $19.39

This week, the Canucks are up against the Winnipeg Jets at Rogers Arena, so get ready to cheer them on.

When: Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026
Time: 7 to 9 p.m.
Where: 800 Griffiths Way 
Cost: $78.75

This Friday, the Canada Black Music Archives (CBMA) presents a special Black History Month Showcase at the Museum of Vancouver. The event will spotlight performances by local artists Dee Daniels, Khari McClelland, Ndidi Cascade, Henri Brown, and DJ Carl Allen, giving museum-goers the chance to dive into some of Vancouver’s finest soul and R&B music.

The Whitecaps are up against the C.S. Cartaginés in the Concacaf Champions Cup this Wednesday at BC Place.

“A Night of Obsidian” is presented by Reel Causes at the Rio in honour of Black History Month, featuring a screening of Shoot the People and a conversation with multiple activists and freedom fighters. This includes Lillian E. Benson, a legendary film and television editor; Elmer Dixon, a lifelong activist who once marched with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and co-founded the Seattle Chapter of the Black Panther Party; and event curator Natasha Tony.

Cat Power has long been acclaimed, including as a solo artist and part of their original band. Getting her start in the ’90s indie scene, Charlyn “Chan” Marshall (Cat Power) is known for her signature blend of indie rock, blues, and emotionally profound lyrics.

Time: 7 p.m.

An iconic live painting night and competition is back in North Vancouver at the end of this week. The high-energy showdown will feature live DJs, drinks, and a battle of the brush that will end with a crowned winner.

Where: 115 Victory Ship Way, North Vancouver

Acclaimed Canadian singer-songwriter Kathleen Edwards is on her way to Vancouver to perform at the Commodore, beloved by fans of alt-country, folk, and heartland rock.

You still have two more chances to catch the Improv Centre’s show, Single, Not Single, which explores the ups and downs of relationships (or lack thereof) in a way that will have you struggling to breathe in between laughs.
