The weather might be gloomy, but make no mistake, this weekend is a big one, and it’s worth it to layer up and enjoy it. From the Vancouver International Wine Fest to the Rugby SVNS, here are 10 of the best things to do in Vancouver this weekend (March 6-8).

In addition to the last few days of Vancouver Cocktail Week, lovers of fine sips will find global wines from 112 wineries at this year’s Vancouver International Wine Festival, which has been voted the “#1 Food, Wine & Hospitality Event in Canada” for eight years straight! International tastings are a great opportunity to try a broad selection of wines of all kinds and connect with the people and communities behind them.

This is a major weekend for rugby lovers. The Vancouver SVNS are back for two days of non-stop action at BC Place, with the world’s top men’s and women’s teams going head-to-head. It’s also a weekend full of fun activations, notoriously over-the-top costumes, and live entertainment off the field.

Now in its fifth year, Vancouver Cocktail Week toasts to the city’s incredible beverage scene, inviting residents to enjoy sips of all kinds at venues across the city through happy hour specials, events, and seminars. In addition to spotlighting award-winning local bar talent, there will be visiting bartenders and beverage ambassadors from across the globe.

The 19th annual Coastal Dance Festival is back in Vancouver with a lineup of events at the Museum of Anthropology and New West’s Anvil Theatre that celebrate the lived artistic practices of Indigenous artists from across Canada and the globe.

There’s still time to check out Vancouver’s International Mountain Film Fest, which is back at theatres across Vancouver, Coquitlam, and West Vancouver with screenings and live guest appearances that mountain lovers won’t want to miss.

Every Saturday, 33 Acres hosts a late-night party at its Vancouver and Calgary breweries, with local and visiting DJs spinning irresistible house beats. Music starts at 8 p.m., and you’ll definitely want to arrive early to secure your spot and your brew.

Award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter Dominique Fils-Aimé is a rising star whose work is deeply inspired by the history of Black music in North America, fusing jazz, gospel, soul, and R&B into her own unique sound.

On select Sundays in the coming weeks, the Museum of Vancouver is hosting pop-up yoga, with admission to the museum’s exhibits and galleries included in the ticket price. The next session is on Sunday, March 8, 2026.
