January is almost over, but the year is just getting started.

From wintery wonderlands to warm activities indoors, we’ve got all the best things to do this weekend in Edmonton. Whichever event you’re cozying up to, it’s sure to be a good one. So, without further ado, here are all the events and activities we’ve rounded up for you this weekend.

These magical castles are only available in five locations, and Edmonton is one of the lucky cities. This celebration has been ongoing since 2011 and remains one of the most sought-after winter attractions of all time.

Where: Fan Park — 10104 104th Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alta.

Expect a long list of DJ performances, free skating, free dancing, and so much more. If you’re looking to get out into the city to start the year, these weekends will have you covered.

When: Now until Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026

Where: Sir Winston Churchill Square — 100th St. NW, Edmonton, Alta.

This multi-venue music and arts festival takes over the downtown core, spreading out across the city, and features a number of free outdoor activities. It started in 2019, and it’s been spreading winter cheer in Edmonton since.

Rabbit Hill is Edmonton’s largest snow resort, offering over 40 acres of terrain and a thrilling tube park for over 70 years. It is now open for the winter season.

The snow is finally packed in, and it’s time for those winter hikes and trails in Edmonton.

We’ve rounded up some of the best winter hikes and trails in and around Edmonton. Whether you’re a beginner, a seasoned hiker, or just a casual trail lurker, we’ve got something for everyone. These trails are also good in the summer and for year-round walking, but we recommend them this time of year.

Global superstar Dean Lewis is coming to Edmonton on his world tour. You can expect a great performance with amazing music to soothe your ears and warm your heart.

Friday Night Trivia is hosted each week at Telus World of Science’s Purple Pear Restaurant. This event is not only free but also family-friendly, so everyone can participate and compete.

Immerse yourself in the lush botanical gardens of Muttart Conservatory, combining nature with art for a multisensory experience. Featuring DJs and dancing, as well as other visual performers, this night will transform the gardens into a house music landscape.

This Swifie-themed market offers photo-ops, bracelet trading, mini tattoos, dirty sodas, and much, much more.
