There may be a wave of extra cold weather coming, but that won’t stop us from having a fabulous weekend! Toronto doesn’t stop for less-than-favourable temperatures, so if you haven’t made your itinerary for the next few days, now is the time.

Here are the best things to add to your list of things to do in Toronto this weekend.

DesignTO is back from Friday until Feb. 1, 2026, showcasing 100 free events around Toronto, including exhibitions, talks, and installations.

When: Friday, Jan. 23, to Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026 (festival on until Feb. 1)
Where: Various locations in Toronto
Cost: Varies

Skate by the Lake offers gorgeous views of the city while you glide along an outdoor rink.

Be sure to bundle up as it’s going to be extra cold.

When: Friday, Jan. 23 to Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026
Where: Harbourfront Centre – 235 Queens Quay W.
Cost: Free admission

Love interior design or looking for some inspo for your space?

The Interior Design Show is running all weekend in Toronto, so grab some tickets and get ready to be inspired.

When: Friday, Jan. 23, to Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026
Where: Metro Toronto Convention Centre North – 255 Front St. W.
Cost: $25+ per ticket

The Bentway is a figure loop rink under the Gardiner. It’s easy to get to, and it’s free to enjoy.

When: Friday, Jan. 23, to Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026
Where: The Bentway – 250 Fort York Blvd.
Cost: Free admission

“Join us for an evening on the East Coast, filled with live music from Anna Ludlow (DRUM, Come From Away) and her band, playing classic East Coast hits. We’ll be showcasing the oceans of good cheer the East Coast has to offer as you explore the aquarium after dark,” shares Ripley’s Aquarium.

Talk about a wholesome way to escape the cold weather.

The Leafs are at home on Friday, and Mitch Marner will be back on his old stompin’ grounds.

Where: Scotiabank Arena – 40 Bay St.
Cost: $187+ per ticket

Lord of the Rings is coming to Toronto’s Meridian Hall, bringing The Fellowship of the Ring to life through a live orchestra.

When: Friday, Jan. 23, and Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026
Time: 1 p.m. or 7:30 p.m.
Where: Meridian Hall – 1 Front St. E.
Cost: $199+ per ticket

Blue Rodeo is making over Massey Hall for two nights. Take it from someone who saw them perform this summer: getting tickets is a must.

When: Friday, Jan. 23, and Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026
Time: 8 p.m.
Where: Massey Hall – 178 Victoria St.
Cost: $180+ per ticket

Evergreen Brick Works is hosting free family-friendly films in a warm indoor space on select Saturdays in January and February.

The first 175 people will get a spot, with food and drinks available to purchase.

This weekend’s movie is 101 Dalmatians. 

When: Saturday, Jan. 17
Time: 6:30 p.m.
Where: Evergreen Brick Works – 550 Bayview Ave.
Cost: Free admission

Another Leafs game if you can’t make it to the one on Friday.

When: Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026
Time: 1:30 p.m.
Where: Scotiabank Arena – 40 Bay St.
Cost: $141+ per ticket
