Canada’s largest festival for tea lovers is coming to Toronto this weekend

26 January 20263 Mins Read

The annual Toronto Tea Festival returns this February, bringing some of the finest blends in the world together under one roof. This year’s festivities will host over 40 vendors — new and favourites, demonstrations, speakers, and of course, a whole lot of brewing.

Learn, indulge, and purchase your favourites at the Toronto Tea Festival on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, 2026, at the Toronto Reference Library.

You’ll find all the excitement in the Appel Salon on the second floor.

What to expect

For an entire weekend, experts from the brewing industry will offer free presentations as you sip away on the freshest teas. “The festival offers a rich tapestry of flavours, aromas, and cultures, providing attendees with the opportunity to taste some of the finest teas from around the world,” the official website reads.

“Through presenting sponsors Tao Tea Leaf and the Tea Guild of Canada, the Toronto Tea Festival continues to thrive as a hub for education, exploration, and community.”

Attendees will get their hands on their own tasting cup in a signature tote bag. And throughout the day, they can enjoy special demonstrations like Chinese Tea Art by Dian Cha (Whisking Tea) and Song Dynasty performed by MingMing Wang.

Other activities to check out include:

  • Beautiful Chinese Tea Ceremonies performed by Sabrina Chen
  • Elegant Japanese Tea Ceremony performances by
    • Momo Yoshida of Momo Tea and founder of the Japanese Tea Festival Canada/Nihoncha Matsuri
    • Montreal’s Reina Sakao of Tea Sakao
  • Talks by:
    • Sacred Connections: Indigenous Knowledge and Tea: a Perfect Blend
    • Regenerative Tea Farming
    • Japanese White Tea
    • Tasseomancy and Tea
    • Tea 101
    • Differences Between Tea and Wine
    • Discover the Art of Canadian Tea

And much, much more.

This year’s vendors

Now let’s look at the vendor lineup. If you’ve been to previous Toronto Tea Festivals, you may see some familiar faces. We recommend checking out Kebaonish Inc. It’s an Indigenous Tea company, and if you’d love to learn more about it, its co-founder, Dr. Shyra Barberstock, will also be giving a lecture on Sacred Connections: Indigenous knowledge and Tea.

Other brands to join the party are Tea Squared Inc., Momo Tea and David’s Tea. In addition to those names, you’ll also see the return of The Tea Guild of Canada, Momo Tea, Genuine Tea, and Secret Teatime. Above all, you’ll also spot the originator of the Toronto Tea Festival, Tao Tea Leaf.

So if you find yourself with some free time this weekend, get those tickets online starting at $25 and make your way over to 789 Yonge St. from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.

When: Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, 2026
Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Toronto Reference Library, Appel Salon, second floor, 789 Yonge St.
Cost: $25+
